Kate Bramley is a prolific playwright and theatre director best known for her work with Hull Truck and Badapple Theatre Company. She is also a professional touring musician and songwriter, touring with The Mile Roses and Jez Lowe.

Kate co-founded Badapple Theatre in 1998 and also devised the first of their inspiring ‘Theatre on Your Doorstep’ productions back in 2006. She is a theatre
director and writer who worked for many years with Hull Truck Theatre as well as  many other theatre companies nationally. In past years she has worked with
Edinburgh-based Nonsense Room on site specific plays, THE APPRENTICE and A CHRISTMAS CAROL, at Rosslyn Chapel.

For Badapple she has written AMY JOHNSON, MARLOWE MEET RAYMOND CHANDLER, STILL MARILYN, FIGHTING THE TIDE, AN HONORARY YORKSHIREMAN, LAUREL & CHARLIE, FARMER SCROOGE'S CHRISTMAS CAROL, BACK TO THE LAND GIRLS, EDDIE AND THE GOLD TOPS, LIGHTS OUT LAND GIRLS, THE CARLTON COLLIERS,THE MICE WHO ATE CHRISTMAS, THE DAILY BREAD, THE THANKFUL VILLAGE, THE UNLIKELY DADS, THE ELVES AND THE CARPENTER, THE LAST STATION KEEPER, SALSA VERDE, THE FROZEN ROMAN and THE SNOW DANCER. For the Badapple Young Actors she has written ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN HAMMERTON, SHAKESPEARE'S APPRENTICES, THE GHOSTS OF HAMMERTON HALL, THE LOST GARDENS OF HAMMERTON, DYNAMO THE HAMMERTON HORSE.

Autumn 2020 will see the world premiere of her latest play ELEPHANT ROCK.
