JUNE 2009 'THE LAND GIRLS OF YORKSHIRE'
A new comedy

Written and directed by Kate Bramley
Starring Lois Creasy and Natalie Barrett

'Some girls just aren't cut out for farming..'

It’s wartime, and there are some new arrivals in the village. They’re turning heads and breaking hearts as the fine girls of the Women’s Land Army take to the hills.

This brand new show is the latest comedy two-hander from Badapple's resident writer as she celebrates the highs and lows of the wonderful women who helped keep Britain fed during World War II, set against a backdrop of glorious music of the age, as well as new tunes by songwriter Jez Lowe.  Although a fictional tale this play owes much to the reminiscences of a number of Land Army Girls who contributed their own personal stories to this exciting new comedy.

MAY: LAUREL TOUR CLOSES- RECORD AUDIENCES!
Huge congratulations to Mat Urey and Colin Moncrieff for their sterling performances in 'Laurel and Charlie' that finished this week, seeing record audiences across the tour, including a delightful show for the 'Sons of the Desert' Laurel and Hardy fan club convention at the Winter Pavillions in Morecambe. It was a touching sight for all to see the show in the theatre, which is being restored by a hard working local group after being closed for more than twenty years.
